Player Parent Meeting Tomorrow- for 2011 Season!

Players and parents are all invited to attend a meeting that will be held tomorrow, November 4th, 7:00 PM at Olympus High School. We will discuss fees for the 2011 season, fundraising opportunities, Spirit Gear, and other important information!

New and returning players are invited! You won't want to miss it!

Also, the ULA is now accepting registration for winter league. This is a great way to get ready for the upcoming season. The registration link is posted on the right hand side of the page.

National Team Tryouts information and Mamaci Info

The National Tournament is over Memorial Day Weekend in Baltimore, Maryland. Tryouts for our area team will be held on April 17th, at Westminster College. This is a great chance to meet other players in the state, go to an awesome tournament, and be seen by college recruiters. If you are interested in playing, you must register and tryout. The registration links are on the side of the blog.

Information for playing on Mamaci is also now posted on the side of the blog. This is a great chance to play lacrosse during the summer, go to more tournaments, and learn from the best. I encourage all of you to do it!

Congrats for a well-played weekend and a 2nd place trophy from the Beetdigger Tournament! Keep working hard in practice and the sky is the limit!

This Week- Varsity

This is going to be a busy week varsity!

Friday:
Beetdigger game 10:00 AM against East (we need to be at the field by 8:45 AM)
Regular Season game 6:30 PM against Woodscross at their field. We need to be there ready to warm up by 5:30 PM.

Saturday:
Beetdigger
9:00 AM game against Bingham (need to be there by 8:00 AM)
1:00 PM game against Riverton (need to be warming up by 12:00 PM)
We will have another game sometime after 1:00. Game time will be determined by how we do in our other games.

If, for whatever reason, you cannot make one of these games, please let me know ASAP!

JV Scrimmage

Bingham's Jv Coach called me and said that her girls would like to scrimmage us next week! We have tentatively decided on Wednesday (the 10th) @ 4:00 at Evergreen High. I'll let you know if anything changes, but I'm like 99.9% sure that this is the plan. Please bring both jerseys and come prepared to still practice until 5:30.

If all of you could send me a text with your name that would be awesome. I want to make sure that future texts get to all of you, andthis seems to be the only sure-fire way of making that happen. Hope you all are enjoying your day off!

JV Play Day

So I hope this post works... I posted this morning and for some reason it didn't appear.

First of all, I want to apologize to the girls that didn't receive a text this morning. I sent out a mass text to all of your phones, but it was picky about to whom it actually went through to. Sorry girls and parents :( The weather was awful this morning and the both evergreen and the center were muddy and very soggy. I didn't want any injuries so I figured the best thing to do would be to cancel practice. If any of you girls would still like to practice today, send me a text. Looks like the weather has cleared up, and I would be more than willing to meet with you! Don't worry if you can't... it's not mandatory.

The JV play day is tomorrow! We will be meeting at Riverside Park (600 North 1400 West. Head on 1-15 to 600 North. Exit, and go west to 14oo west. Remember that 600 North turns into 700 North, so don't panic when you see the change) at 11:00. Girls, I know we talked about meeting at 11:30, but since we weren't able to have practice today because of the weather I changed it so that we can squeeze in a little more practice. You all should probably pack a lunch as we will be there the better part of the afternoon and I'm not sure if they will be selling concessions. Come prepared with warm clothing, eyewear, mouthguard, stick, cleats, and water. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EYEGEAR OR A MOUTHGUARD YOU WILL NOT PLAY. No exceptions. I don't want any of you getting hurt, and you all are old enough that you should be responsible enough to remember all your equipment.

Our playing schedule is as follows. Remember each game is only 25 minutes long. Your families are more than welcome to come and watch if they can brave the weather :)

Please meet at Olympus High School at 3:00 for Varsity and 3:45 for JV to carpool down. If you can't make it to the school, please make sure you let your coach know so we don't wait for you!

For our scrimmages, please wear black shorts (kilt if you have one) or pants and a white t-shirt or shirt. It doesn't have to be a plain t-shirt, just white based. Wear your green socks if you have them. If you would like to wear your underarmor, please wear it under your t-shirt and it needs to be black. We will be wearing our pennies for our scrimmages. We should get our uniforms in this week.

Scrimmage on Tuesday with Judge for Varsity only at 4:00 PM at Evergreen (our home field). Please be there at 3:00 PM. Same dress at our Jordan scrimmage.

Homework!

I sent your homework out in an e-mail. Please check it and get started on it. Sorry it took me so long to get it out, I have been working on it since I got home!

Heads up- Varsity- we are scrimmaging Judge on Tuesday at 4:00, so make sure you can be there! This will be great practice for Vegas!

New Practice Location

Hooray! We have a new practice location for the month of February (Thank you Emily Sybrant!). It is a great field, nice and big, and best of all, no snow! The address is

Upcoming events

Best of the West is quickly coming, so please let us know if you are committed to going.

Our JV playday is March 6th. The entire JV team needs to be there, no exceptions, so make sure you mark that day off on your calendar.

February 16th is when early player registration ends for the ULA, so make sure you register before then to avoid any late penalties!

Varsity Tryouts, etc.

Hey Ladies!

Thanks so much for working hard at practice! I know its going to make us a better, stronger, team and will all be worth it! I am so glad that I get to coach you guys! Just a few reminders for next week...

Varsity tryouts are going to be next Thursday and Friday (Jan 28-29). Be working on your wall ball and getting your mile times up! We will choose captains on Monday (February 1). We will run a practice mile on either Monday or Tuesday (January 25 or 26). We are going to have a team party on Wednesday, January 27. More details to follow!

Ladies,

For those of you who still need to pay your fees, here is a breakdown of what they are:

Team fee (pays for field use, officials, equipment, etc): $145
Uniform (for those who do not have one): $92
ULA Membership: $112
US Lacrosse Membership: $35
Lacrosse bag (encouraged): $50
Uniform socks 2 pack (encouraged): $20
Warm-ups (required for varsity): $90
Best of the West (optional, encouraged for varsity): $150

If any of you are considering not playing because money is an issue, make sure you come and talk to me before you make any decisions. We want to order our uniforms, warm-ups, etc, soon so that we can have them in time for Best of the West and the JV playday. That means we need to order them in the next week or so. Please get your orders into Emily Schramm ASAP!!

Practice is at Olympus tomorrow at 3:30 PM. Thanks for working so hard the last few days! I can tell it is going to be a great season and I am so excited that I get to coach all of you!

Practice Starts This Monday!

Conditioning will start on Monday, January 18th. Please meet at the Olympus High School track at 3:30 PM. Practice will go until 5:00 PM. Please don't forget cleats, shoes, lacrosse stick, and water. Dress for the weather! New players, if you don't have a stick yet, don't worry about not having it a practice. Remember, you need to let me know if you aren't going to be able to make it. Come ready to work hard! See you there!

Playing for the 2010 Season

If you are interested in playing with us for our 2010 season and weren't able to make our parent meeting, please contact Coach Jessica at littlemessyjessi8@yahoo.com . Every player must fill out a medical release, player contract, parent contract, player contact form, and rules and guidelines form in order to play. Each player must also register with the ULA and US Lacrosse. The forms and links to register can be found on the side of this website. ULA late feels go into effect on February 17, so make sure to sign up before then! If money is an issue for any player, please contact me.
